'Passive House' Construction Standards

Passive House (or Passivhaus in its native German) is an advanced method of construction that creates ultra-low energy buildings that require very little heating or cooling. It is a rigorously accredited methodology popular in the colder reaches of Scandinavia, which can be used for both new builds and substantial refurbishments of older properties.

Heating bills don't have to be a fact of life. With a carefully planned Passive build, both homes and offices can substantially reduce their running costs from day one, saving enormous sums over the longer term. When combined with the right renewable energy sources you can effectively eliminate the carbon footprint of your building.

We are the Island's approved contractor for the award winning Beattie Passive system, the UK's first and only Certified Passivhaus Build System, making us the Isle of Man's only provider of Passive House design and construction services. We can convert or build any property to a passive structure, to provide the ultimate home or office of the future. Our passive builds have won national awards, with a CCS-built home in Port St Mary winning the prestigious 'Best Eco Home 2017' from BuildIt Magazine.
